We’re still celebrating hashtag#InternationalWomensMonth. Today, I’m thrilled to highlight my and friend and legal powerhouse, Jamala S. McFadden ⚖️
Jamala and I bonded at the University of Michigan Law School nearly 25 years ago, and her since then has been nothing short of extraordinary.
As co-founder of The Employment Law Solution, based in Atlanta, she’s defended companies, argued before the .. , and shaped workplace policies nationwide.
(Fun fact : “” means “beautiful and graceful” in Arabic and Hindi, while “” translates to “ ”—a perfect match for our dynamic duo!)
received the .. ’ , presented by the Gate City Bar Association at its 22nd Annual Hall of Fame Gala in November 2023. This honor recognizes her exceptional contributions to the legal profession, aligning with her trailblazing career in employment law and community leadership.
She has received numerous distinctions over the years—including the in 2023 and , and the same was true in law school. She was a leader, president of Michigan’s Black Law Students Alliance, and held countless other leadership posts — all while also raising her fantastic son — his name is “”, too — !!!!
And yes, the universe clearly has a sense of humor: with names like ( ), our friendship was basically destiny.
(Bonus trivia: The Scottish/Irish surname McFadden means “son of little Patrick”—so Jamala’s roots are as storied as her career! And this recognition is timely following St. Patrick’s Day ☘️)
